If you are being dropped off or picked up from the port by friends or family, due to security reasons, there is no waiting area for your ride to park. In February 2013, Carnival Triumph was stranded at sea for 4 days. Then the port opened its cruise dock for the disabled vessel, where its nearly 4000 passengers were disembarked.
You can find many options, including boutiques, convenience stores, cafes, coffee shops, bars and fine dining. Quickly take a slight left onto Canal Street just past Church Street. Then, take another left almost immediately to stay on Canal Street. Drive for about a minute, then turn right onto Eslava Street and turn right again onto Water Street. When you're back on the interstate, stay in the right lane to take the next exit, which is Exit 26A/Canal Street.
